Florida health officials confirmed 11,093 additional cases of COVID-19 on Sunday, and another 133 resident deaths as a result of the novel coronavirus.
The state has now verified 1,571,279 COVID-19 cases since the pandemic began and 24,137 resident deaths, according to the department of health.

Another 378 non-residents have died within the state, and there have been at least 67,997 resident hospitalizations attributed to the novel coronavirus in Florida since the start of the outbreak.
The White House Coronavirus Task Force said in its latest report that Florida “is in full COVID-19 resurgence, which will drive significant fatalities for many weeks and stress the staffing of the hospital system.”
Deaths verified in the past day include 34 in Miami-Dade County, 12 in Broward County and three in Palm Beach County.

At least 1,007,716 vaccines have been administered in the state, with 91,819 people getting both shots that are needed. Miami-Dade has had 115,982 vaccinations, Broward has had 90,666 and Monroe 3,908, according to the latest numbers available Sunday.
The statewide positivity rate on yesterday’s testing was 9.10%.
