Woman in handcuffs escapes from police in Fort Lauderdale

Authorities search for Pricella Williams

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Police were searching for a handcuffed woman who escaped from police on Friday night.

Fort Lauderdale Police Detective Tracy Figone identified the woman as Pricella Williams.  The 34-year-old woman with a money sign tattooed to her forehead was wanted on a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

"Fort Lauderdale police officers placed Williams into handcuffs for a BSO arrest warrant," Figone said.

The handcuffs didn't stop Williams. She managed to escape from police on Friday night at 932 NW Third Ave. A witness saw her crossing the street. A helicopter and police dogs were involved in the search.

John Aiello said he was trying to get home, but a police officer told him "there are police dogs running around and we can't have you getting bit."

Amid the frantic search, the driver of a sports utility vehicle crashed into a Fort Lauderdale patrol car. Figone said the driver was distracted.

The perimeter dissipated by 11 p.m. Figone said on Saturday night that Williams had not been located.

"Detectives are actively working any and all leads," Figone said.
