FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – It’s an event tailor made for humans and their furry friends. The 2025 VCA Walk for the Animals is taking place on Saturday, Feb. 1, at the Las Olas Intracoastal Promenade Park. Local 10 Anchor and Animal Advocate Jacey Birch will serve as the event emcee.
In its 35th year, the one-mile walk kicks off at 9 a.m. and will offer vendor booths and entertainment along the route. The event is the Humane Society of Broward County’s largest fundraiser of the year with a goal of raising $518,000. Donations and sponsorships received allow the shelter to continue caring for the thousands of homeless animals that come to the facility each year. In addition, the shelter offers many programs and services such as low-cost vaccinations, educational programs and surrender prevention.
