HOLLYWOOD, Fla. – As bands from Hurricane Matthew passed through Hollywood on Thursday, residents of one neighborhood were surprised to learn that a water main broke outside their homes.
The 8-inch water main broke in an alley in the 1000 block between Tyler and Polk streets, according to officials.
Water flooded the street and went into the yards of some residents.
"We're worried that (the water) is going to hit the air conditioning unit, which we just installed a few months ago," a resident said.
Crews from the city were able to repair the damage.
