Miami-Dade County bestowed a proclamation declaring Tuesday, Nov. 15, "My Future, My Choice" Day.

My Future, My Choice is a multi-year and multi-faceted station campaign that aims to spread a positive message to youth that they can choose to have a promising future.

During a meeting at County Hall, Miami-Dade County Mayor Carlos Gimenez, along with Commissioner Xavier Suarez and other government officials, handed the honor to Local 10 community relations director Mayte Padron.

The proclamation also recognized the station's "Big Book Drive," a component of My Future, My Choice. The Big Book Drive collected 24,000 books which were distributed to more than two dozen schools and organizations across South Florida.
