Ted Larsen returns to birthplace, signs with Dolphins

Offensive lineman has started 65 games with Buccaneers, Cardinals, Bears

DAVIE, Fla. ā€“ Ted Larsen is coming home.

The Miami Dolphins announced Friday that the offensive lineman has signed with the team as unrestricted free agent.

Larsen, who was born in Miami and played high school football in Palm Harbor, spent the 2016 season with the Chicago Bears.

He has started 65 games in his NFL career -- 55 at guard and 10 at center.

Larsen, who played for North Carolina State in college, was a sixth-round draft pick of the New England Patriots in 2010. He was released by the Patriots before the season, but was claimed off waivers by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

After four seasons in Tampa, Larsen spent two years with the Arizona Cardinals before signing with the Bears last year.
