MIAMI – The Miami Heat are reportedly close to a multi-year extension with head coach Erik Spoelstra.
Arian Wojnarowski of the Vertical reports that Spoelstra and the Heat are nearing a deal.

According to that report, owner Micky Arison and president Pat Riley want to keep Spoelstra beyond his contract in 2016-17.
Spoelstra, 45, is the longest tenured coach in the Eastern Conference.
Spoelstra was an assistant on the Heat's 2006 championship team and was the head coach for back-to-back titles in 2012 and 2013.
Spoelstra has a 399-241 regular season record and is 70-43 in the playoffs.
