Seminoles move into top 25, join Miami among 7 remaining undefeated teams

Florida State will come to Sunrise as ranked team

SUNRISE, Fla. – Florida State will face Oklahoma State in the Orange Bowl Basketball Classic as a ranked team.

The Seminoles (9-0) cracked The Associated Press poll Monday for the first time all season after last week's 83-66 upset win at then-No. 5 Florida.

Florida State jumped all the way to No. 19 after impressive wins against the Gators, Loyola of Maryland and Tulane. The Seminoles are one of just seven remaining undefeated Division I teams, along with Miami.

The No. 6 Hurricanes (8-0) will host George Washington at noon Saturday. Miami was No. 10 in last week's poll.

Villanova (10-0) overtook Duke as the new No. 1. The Blue Devils (11-1, 0-1 Atlantic Coast Conference) dropped their first game of the season in an 89-84 loss at Boston College.

Florida dropped all the way to No. 22 after three straight losses to Duke, FSU and Loyola of Illinois. The Gators (6-3) beat Cincinnati 66-60 last Saturday to win their first game since Nov. 24.

The Seminoles and Gators will play in Saturday's Orange Bowl Basketball Classic at the BB&T Center. Florida State tips off against the Cowboys at 2 p.m. Florida then meets Clemson in the following game.
