MIAMI – If David Beckham's prospective Miami MLS team shows as much tenacity as its owner, South Florida may soon have another winner to celebrate.
In an interview with Bloomberg TV, Beckham says he remains committed to bringing a Major League Soccer team to the Magic City.

The soccer icon believes perseverance is the key to soccer's return after setbacks which have blocked Beckham's desire to build a new stadium on the water in downtown Miami.
"I said I want to bring a team here and I will take a team to Miami, but obviously there are politics," Beckham told Michael Crumpton. "There are speed bumps along the way and we've come up against those."
Beckham did admit that perhaps he's setting the bar a bit too high in his desire to build a true soccer palace in a crowded area with citizens who already feel burned by the Marlins and their quest for a stadium.
"I've been very cheeky in a way, " Beckham said. "Because I've gone in to Miami and I've said, ‘OK, I want to build Old Trafford or I want to build Wembley Stadium next to Buckingham Palace."
Beckham's group has already been denied preferred spots at PortMiami and next to the American Airlines Arena, but Local 10 has learned that the English superstar has had talks about constructing a stadium on the site of the old Miami Herald building which is currently owned by the Genting Group.
No matter where his team ends up playing, Beckham believes his dream will become a reality.
"You know, I've kind of gone in, my dream, was to have our stadium on the waterfront. It's not worked out like that and we have alternative sites and, like I said, it will happen."
