Woman says she, friend drugged at Miami Beach bar, then raped

Local 10 News speaks to woman about what she says happened to her

MIAMI BEACH, Fla. – A South Florida woman said she was drugged at a bar and then raped at a South Beach hotel.

The woman said she stopped at Nikki Beach with a friend who was visiting from out of town. She said the two ordered a drink and shortly after two men approached them to chat. The next thing she knew, she said, she woke up in a hotel room.

"You know how you have your gut instinct ... where you just know there's something wrong? We knew the second that we were able to put our minds together and came to that something completely awful had happened," she said.

The woman said she remembers "being completely dazed and fogged and out of it," but her body wouldn't respond.

She said the two men from Nikki Beach were naked in the room and her friend was passed out in the fetal position with her pants off in a corner.

"The men were both naked, saying awful, awful things to the both of us," the woman said.

She and her friend were able to get up and move. She said the men allowed the two to leave the hotel while they were still disoriented.

Miami Beach police are investigating and following every lead.

The woman described the first suspect as a tall man between 31 and 35 years old. She said he had dark hair, an Israeli accent and claimed to be from Canada.

Anyone with information is encouraged to call Miami Beach police.
