Third girl claims she was sexually assaulted by Deerfield Beach swimming instructor

Deputies say Francisco De Aragon, 26, touched girls during swim lessons

Francisco De Aragon is accused of inappropriately touching three girls during swimming sessions at the Deerfield Beach Aquatic Center.

DEERFIELD BEACH, Fla. ā€“ A third girl claims she was sexually assaulted by a swimming instructor Tuesday in Deerfield Beach, Broward Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Gina Carter said Friday.

Francisco De Aragon, 26, was arrested Wednesday on two counts of sexual battery on a minor and one count of lewd and lascivious molestation on a minor. He now faces an additional charge of lewd and lascivious molestation on a minor.

Carter said the latest victim claims De Aragon touched her vagina under her bathing suit during an 11 a.m. swimming lesson at the Deerfield Beach Aquatic Center.

Two other 6-year-old girls also said De Aragon did the same thing to them.

According to a Broward Sheriff's Office report, De Aragon also touched one of the girls' buttocks during the session.

Authorities said the girls attend different schools and do not know each other.

De Aragon, who also worked as a lifeguard, has been fired.

Deerfield Beach employment records show De Aragon previously worked as an aquatics coordinator at the Boca West Country Club and as an enrollment adviser at Obridge Academy in West Palm Beach.

The principal of Somerset Pines Academy, a charter school, sent a letter to parents Thursday after discovering one of the victims attends the school.

"As you know, the lifeguard is not an employee of Somerset Pines Academy," Donna Kaye wrote in part. "As we informed parents through communication yesterday, swim instruction was discontinued immediately and will not resume for the remainder of this session. Our students' safety and well-being is always our paramount concern."
