Teen dies, 1 charged in Miami Carol City High School shooting

Police identify 16-year-old shot dead, charge 17-year-old

MIAMI – Two teens were shot Thursday during a fight at Miami Carol City High School property. One of the boys shot has died, Miami-Dade police reported Tuesday.

After a fight at the school, 3301 NW 183 St., witnesses said a teen pulled out a gun and shot Khambrel Manning, 16, and Tranard Gray, 17.

Manning was shot in the head, police said. They were airlifted to Jackson Memorial Hospital, where Manning later died.

Miami Gardens police officers arrested  Freddrick Parks, 17. He stands accused of being the gunman and faces charges of first degree murder and attempted murder.

"To me, he's generous, he's loyal, he's funny and he's a good friend," Samuel Geffrard said of his friend. "Why would anyone want to do something like this to him? I don't think it was meant for him. He was just in the area. It was too early to die."

Police said others who may have been involved in the fight ran away after the shooting.

"The motive is believed to have been as a result of an ongoing feud between the parties,"Hernandez said.

SOCIAL MEDIA

Several videos on YouTube show fights that allegedly happened in Miami Carol City High School. Last year, a Tamari Clark posted a video of a fight in a bathroom.

As a boy was getting beat up, there was laughter. A YouTube user identified as Tranard Gray was the only one to comment.

"Lol  s--t crazy," Gray said on YouTube.

It's unclear if Gray is the same teen who was shot Thursday.
