Surveillance video shows gunman who shot teenager in head

Jacob Rivera remains in critical condition

HOLLYWOOD, Fla. – Surveillance video showed a gunman running away after shooting a 16-year-old boy in the head, Hollywood police said.

Police were called to 900 N. 66 Avenue about 5:13 p.m. Friday after reports of shots fired. Arriving officers found Jacob Rivera had suffered a gunshot wound.

Rivera was taken to Memorial Regional Hospital, where he remained Monday in critical condition.

A witness told police a man wearing a white T-shirt over his face ran away following the shooting. Detectives from the Hollywood Police Department released surveillance video that showed the man they believe to have shot Rivera running away.
