Rodents take over South Florida Checkers

Rodents ate hamburger buns, rodent droppings found in condiments

PLANTATION, Fla. – State records show a severe rodent issue at a Checkers restaurant in Plantation.

Records indicate rodents were eating the hamburger buns. Rodent droppings were also found in condiments and rodent nesting materials were found in air conditioning vents.

Several other South Florida restaurants had issues last week and were ordered shut as well.

Below is a list of the places and some of their violations. All the places listed below were allowed to re-open following ordered clean up and re-inspections.

"Stop sale issued due to food not being in a wholesome, sound condition, 26 pounds of ham burger bread with gnaw marks and eaten."

"Food with mold-like growth. 2 pounds 4 oz. of hot-dog bread."

"Wall soiled with accumulated black debris in dishwashing area."
