WASHINGTON – During her speech at the historic Woman's March event in Washington, Scarlett Johansson asked women nationwide to remain active in their communities.

The 32-year-old actress said that while growing up in New York City she relied on Planned Parenthood, a nonprofit organization that provides reproductive health services worldwide and has clinics in South Florida.

Johansson said she was 15 when Planned Parenthood "provided a safe place where I could be treated with gentle guidance."

The actress was among the women in Washington, Miami and other cities worldwide who feared President Donald Trump is going to move to take funding away from Planned Parenthood.

"There are very real and devastating consequences to limiting access to what should be considered basic healthcare," she said.

She had a request for the women at the march: "Volunteer with organizations that help women."

She also had a message for Trump: "I did not  vote for you. But I want to be able to support you. But first I ask that you support me."
