Overnight fire inside Dollar Store in Miami leaves behind damage

Fire causes smoke damage to neighboring businesses

MIAMI – A fire erupted inside a Dollar Store in Miami early Tuesday morning.

The fire started shortly before 1 a.m. at the Dollar Store on Northwest 36th Street.

Miami Department of Fire-Rescue Capt. Ignatius Carroll said firefighters arrived to heavy flames and smoke coming from inside the store.

Carroll said the smoke spread to neighboring businesses inside the strip mall.

The fire was contained within 30 minutes, but several businesses had smoke damage.

No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
