Oakland Park auto repair shop catches fire

Firefighter taken to hospital

OAKLAND PARK, Fla. – A firefighter was hospitalized after battling a fire at an Oakland Park auto repair shop.

The fire started about 12:30 p.m. Friday at Factory Finish Collision Center.

Firefighters arrived and found the building engulfed in flames.

It took firefighters about 45 minutes to contain the fire.

Flammable compounds inside the shop caused several explosions.

There were about a dozen vehicles inside the shop at the time of the fire.

One firefighter was injured and taken to a hospital, but he is expected to recover. No other injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
