MIAMI ā Police are searching for at least one gunman after 15 people, including children, were shot at a Miami lounge early Sunday morning.
It happened at The Spot located near Northwest 64th Street and Seventh Avenue about 1 a.m. Sunday.
Surveillance video from a neighboring business was released Monday, but it does not show the actual shooting. Detectives are still hoping they can still use the video to identify the gunman.
Miami police said a total of 15 people were shot. Seven of the victims were taken to a hospital by ambulances, while the others were taken by family members or friends.
All of the victims were between the ages of 11 and 25.
Witnesses said they heard as many as 100 gunshots.
A 15-year-old girl who witnessed the shooting said The Spot is a popular destination for teenagers.
"It's a teen party," she told Local 10 News.
Trevon Simmons, 15, was among the most critically injured. He was shot multiple times inside the club.
"I think it's crazy and it's messed up because no parent should have to get a phone call stating that their loved one is at the hospital going through being shot," Simmons' aunt, Bridget Davis, told Local 10.
Simmons' family said they took his blood-soaked shoes from the hospital, where he spent part of the day in surgery.
"Trevon has always been loved, always had a good heart, always came from a good loving family," Davis said. "His mom loves her kids to death and at the end of the day no parent wants to go through what she is going through."
Another teen injured in the shooting is 11th-grade student Latarrah Ingram, whom friends said is a cheerleader at Booker T. Washington High School.
As of Monday, four victims remained at Jackson Memorial Hospital -- one of them in critical condition.
Police said the lounge owner and witnesses are cooperating, but they still need the public's help.
Meanwhile, Miami-Dade County Public Schools Superintendent Alberto Carvalho gave his input on the shooting via Twitter, posting, "Beyond the horrific headline, can anyone tell me what in the world were teens as young as 11 doing in a club?"
