MIAMI BEACH, Fla. – A Miami Beach police officer is recovering at a Miami hospital after being struck by a car late Saturday night.
The officer was hit near Collins Avenue and Seventh Street about 10:45 p.m.
Miami Beach police said the driver who struck the officer took off after the crash.
Detectives and emergency crews could be seen in the area after the driver fled.
Miami Beach police officers came to the hospital to check on their colleague.
The police officer is in stable condition. Investigators have not named the officer.
So far detectives have not released a description of the car involved.
