DANIA BEACH, Fla. – A man accused of raping a woman last year was arrested by the Broward Sheriff's Office Wednesday.
Dan Johnson, 42, was arrested at a Miami-Dade County jail. where he was being held on unrelated charges.

According to detectives, Johnson was on federal probation when he offered a 21-year-old acquaintance a ride home from work Aug. 3, 2014, but instead drove her to a Dania Beach hotel.
The woman told deputies that when she realized he was going in the wrong direction, she demanded he take her home. She claims Johnson threatened to choke her if she screamed and said he would hurt her and her family members if she called law enforcement.
Deputies said Johnson raped the woman in the parking lot of a hotel before taking her home.
According to an arrest report, the victim recorded a conversation with Johnson after she was raped. The woman asked him why he raped her, and he replied, "Because you (expletive) me over. You play with me like a kid."
Deputies went to Johnson's workplace in Weston on Aug. 7, 2014, but said he fled upon their arrival.
Deputies said Johnson was on federal probation for conspiracy to distribute cocaine. He has also been arrested in the past on charges of armed robbery, possession of a firearm, aggravated battery on a police officer and dealing in stolen property.
