Miami police continue search for missing man one year later

MIAMI – Miami police are renewing their plea for help in finding a 36-year-old man who was reported missing last October.

Police confirm that Sean Michael Hinz was reported missing on Oct. 8, 2023, after he was last seen in downtown Miami.

According to authorities, detectives obtained surveillance video that shows Hinz walking north on the eastside sidewalk of Northeast Eighth Street and Biscayne Boulevard at 4:28 a.m. on Oct. 8, 2023.

Police said he was walking towards Maurice Ferre Park and the Frost Museum area.

At the time, he was wearing a dark green UM shirt and black basketball shorts.

“We continue to follow several leads, however help from the community with any information about Sean would be, not only helpful, but could be vital in helping the city solve this case,” a detective assigned to the case said.

Anyone with any information about Hinz’ whereabouts or disappearance, especially those who may have been in the area that night during the aforementioned times, are urged to contact the Miami Police Department’s Missing Persons Unit at 305-603-6300 and/or email SVU@Miami-Police.org.
