WESTON, Fla. – A dump truck drove into a Weston canal Thursday, sending the driver to the hospital, authorities confirmed.
According to Broward Sheriff’s Office spokesman Carey Codd, deputies and Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue responded to the 4600 block of U.S. Highway 27 shortly before noon.
He said Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue personnel pulled the driver from the water and transported him to a nearby hospital with injuries that appear to be minor.
BSO’s Dive Team will remove the vehicle from the canal.
Authorities are investigating the circumstances leading up to the incident.
No other details were immediately released.
