Betty Davis, Jennifer Correa visit students at schools in Broward, Miami-Dade counties

PEMBROKE PARK, Fla. – Local 10 News meteorologists Betty Davis and Jennifer Correa took their weather talents to several South Florida schools recently.

Chief certified meteorologist Betty Davis visited Coral Reef Senior High School in Miami-Dade County, where she was greeted by cheerleaders, a band and a barracuda, the school's mascot.

In Broward County, Davis made a stop at Fort Lauderdale's North Fork Elementary.  Students were excited to have a television meteorologist in their midst. Davis had them engaged throughout her presentations, talking about weather fronts and climate change.

Weekend morning meteorologist Jennifer Correa talked tornadoes with students at Nob Hill Elementary in Sunrise.  She brought a homemade tornado machine fashioned out of two soda bottles.  The young students were in awe as Correa demonstrated and explained how tornadoes form. 

In Kendall, Correa was invited to take part in the morning announcements at Cypress Elementary School.
