MIAMI – Jackson Health System announced Friday that it is in the process of firing a fourth-year neurology resident after video surfaced in January of what appeared to show her berating an Uber driver in Brickell.
"Jackson Health System is moving forward with the termination of Dr. Anjali Ramkissoon, a resident doctor. She is entitled to an appeal process," a statement from the health system said.

Ramkissoon was placed on administrative leave after the video was released to the media, showing her in what appears to be an inebriated state, berating and then attacking the driver.
"Both sides are actively engaged in the appeals process, which Dr. Ramkissoon is entitled to," her attorney, Evan Marowitz, said. "I look forward to continuing to work with the trust and the county attorney's office toward an equitable resolution of this matter for all concerned."
It's unclear what started the Jan. 17 confrontation, but at the start of the video the driver asks nearby witnesses to call 911, while Ramkissoon makes the same request.
In the video, Ramkissoon is seen attempting to slap the driver and then kicks him in the groin area.
After stumbling to the ground, Ramkissoon gets up, sits in the driver's car and immediately begins using vulgar language to berate the man, ordering him to get in the car and drive her to her destination.
Ramkissoon throws items out of the car, including scissors and papers, hitting nearby vehicles with the objects and yelling, "I have lost my mind!"
Soon after, Ramkissoon gets out of the car, says goodnight and walks away.
Ramkissoon appeared on "Good Morning America" a week after the incident and apologized for her actions.
"I had a bad night," she told George Stephanopoulos during the live, sit-down interview. "I made a huge mistake, the biggest mistake of my life, and that person is not me."
Ramkissoon said she has apologized to the driver and is grateful that he did not press charges. She said she paid for the damage to his car minutes after the fight.
"I did it and I'm ashamed of what I did, and this would never happen again," she said. "In the moment, I was just so angry. I wasn't really thinking. If I could take it back, I would."
