Miami Beach mayor promises 'incredible' events for city's centennial

MIAMI BEACH, Fla. – Andrea Bocelli, Barry Gibb and Gloria Estefan are some of the starts who are scheduled to perform during a free music festival in Miami Beach to mark the city's centennial.

The March 26 beach-side concert will also include Jamaican reggae and hip-hop artist Ky-Mani Marley, Jon Secada, Dave Mason, Nestor Torres, Nicole Henry and Jamaican reggae band Third World.

"I will be very happy to be here," Bocelli said Monday during the announcement of the event.

The Italian tenor bought a home in Miami Beach October 2013, and has surprised church goers at St. Patrick Catholic Church.

Gibb, 68, said he also loves Miami Beach.

"This is the greatest place to raise a family," Gibb said. He has four sons and a daughter.

Mayor Phillip Levine promised the events scheduled "will be incredible."

Hard Rock International, the Seminole Tribe of Florida and Seminole Hard Rock Hotel will be sponsoring the events.
