Sisters who ran away from home in Homestead return safely

Runaways were safe Saturday, police officers say

HOMESTEAD, Fla. – Two sisters who vanished from their home in Homestead about three days ago were reunited with their family on Saturday, according to the Miami-Dade Police Department.

Authorities alerted the public after Esmeralda, 11, and Ruby Martinez, 15, ran away from home on Wednesday.

When detectives released their descriptions, they reported the 11-year-old girl had black hair with blond tips and the 15-year-old girl had a tattoo on her left wrist.
