Monroe County Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Becky Herrin said Acebo was caught on surveillance video stealing the sunglasses from the Bud N' Mary's Marina outfitters store May 31.

Herrin said tipsters identified Acebo as the thief.

Surveillance video shows the man try on the sunglasses. The video shows him put the sunglasses on top of his head, take off his visor and put a tie-strap hat over the glasses, unbeknownst to the cashier.

The thief drove away in a black Chevrolet Silverado.

Herrin said Acebo began calling the store to pay for the sunglasses, but it was too late.

Acting on tips, Deputy Caridad Bellon conducted a check of Acebo and learned that he drove a black Silverado.
