FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Guests at the Fort Lauderdale Airport and Port Cruise Inn were evacuated Monday night after part of the hotel caught fire.
Some guests stood in the parking lot of the hotel, 1800 S. Federal Highway, as firefighters worked to extinguish the flames, and others headed to a Taco Bell across from the hotel to get food and wait.
The fire broke out on the fifth floor of the six-story building at about 9 p.m., according to Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue.
Crews have been renovating some of the rooms on the fifth floor of the hotel.
No injuries were reported, and guests were able to return to their rooms.
