Deputies find 11-year-old boy reported missing from Pompano Beach home

Bloodhound unit, BSO helicopter assist in search for boy

POMPANO BEACH, Fla. – Broward sheriff's deputies have found an 11-year-old boy who was reported missing on Wednesday.

The boy was safe when he was spotted by a deputy in the 300 block of West Atlantic Boulevard, deputies said.

Broward Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Joy Oglesby said Malik Sands, who is autistic, was last seen at his home at 3030 NW Sixth Court in Pompano Beach.

BSO's bloodhound unit and helicopter helped in the search.

The boy will be reunited with his family.
