HOMESTEAD, Fla. – A Miami-Dade County teacher was arrested Sunday on battery on a law enforcement officer and child abuse charges, court records show.
Saryna Parker has taught eighth-grade science at South Dade Middle School for less than a year, Miami-Dade County Public Schools spokeswoman Daisy Gonzalez-Diego said.

The school board is moving to terminate Parker because of her arrest, Gonzalez-Diego said.
