MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – Miami-Dade police released surveillance video Tuesday that shows two robbers posing as police officers as they entered a home in northwest Miami-Dade.
The robbery was reported shortly after 3:30 p.m. Sunday in the 2200 block of Northwest 104th Terrace.
Miami-Dade police Detective Alvaro Zabaleta said two men, armed with guns and wearing body armor, walked into the home through the front door and identified themselves as police officers.
Authorities said the robbers tied the victims' hands before ransacking the house, demanding money and jewelry.
The thieves got away with about $500 in cash and an undisclosed amount of jewelry, Zabaleta said.
Zabaleta said they were driving a black Jeep Cherokee.
Authorities said a couple and a Comcast worker were home at the time, as well as a 3-year-old and a 12-year-old.
Nobody was injured.
Anyone with information about the home invasion is asked to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS.
