Miami-Dade police cruiser stolen in southwest Miami-Dade, authorities say

Helmet, vest inside stolen cruiser

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – Someone stole a Miami-Dade police cruiser Monday morning in southwest Miami-Dade, authorities said.

Police said the car was stolen about 8:30 a.m. from the officer's driveway in the area of Southwest 169th Avenue and 274th Street.

No firearm was inside the car, but there was a helmet and bullet-proof vest inside, authorities said.

The police cruiser is a 2008 Ford Crown Victoria with Florida license plate tag TB2396. The vehicle number is 1606A.
