MARATHON, Fla. – A Florida Keys man was arrested Tuesday after he was seen masturbating in a car parked across from a children's playground, Monroe County Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Becky Herrin said.
David Banfield, 63, of Marathon, was sitting in his 1994 BMW parked at Sombrero Beach looking at children playing, when an off-duty detective spotted him masturbating with his pants down to his knees, Herrin said.

The detective identified himself and asked Banfield to get out of the car, but Banfield refused, Herrin said.
Banfield was arrested on charges of lewd and lascivious exhibition and resisting arrest.
