Police say teens overpowered staff, took keys in planned escape

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office is searching for three escaped juvenile inmates.

Luther Davis, 16, Derek Browley, 16, and Justin Silva, 15, escaped from a Florida Department of Juvenile Justice facility late Sunday night, according to the JSO.

Police said the teenagers battered staff members at the juvenile jail during their escape.

A search was conducted in the area, but the teens haven't been found.

Police said the teens overpowered staff members and took their keys in a planned escape. Police said the escapees opened a secure door, jumped a fence and ran away.

Anyone who sees the teens is asked to call 911. Anyone with information about the escapees is asked to call the JSO at 904-630-0500.
