MIAMI – A shooting outside of a Miami nightclub leaves a man dead and three others with gunshot wounds early Saturday morning, police said.
City of Miami police officers said the shooting stemmed from an argument inside of the El Nuevo Romance Restaurant & Night Club, which has a history of shootings.
Bullets started flying outside of the club at Northwest 36th Street and 35th Avenue. Miami Fire Rescue took the wounded to Jackson Memorial Hospital's Ryder Trauma Center.
"One of the three victims transported is in critical condition and the other two, including a female, remain in stable condition," Officer Rene Pimentel said on Saturday afternoon.
Crime scene technicians collected multiple shell casings at the scene.
"While the motive of the shooting remains unclear, investigators believe that there was an exchange of gun fire, not just a single shooter," Pimentel said.
Rescue also transported a man, who broke his leg after jumping a fence to get away from the shooting, police said.
The nightclub is known for their "After Hour Fridays" with DJs and bands who play reggaeton, bachata, merengue and other dance music from the Dominican Republic. DJ YaTuSabes was set to play hip hop and Latin music after 4 a.m.
