MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – A body found in a sport utility vehicle pulled from a northwest Miami-Dade County canal Thursday afternoon may be that of a missing man from Hialeah.
South Florida Water Management District crews were cleaning the canal near Okeechobee Road, about a mile south of Krome Avenue, when they discovered the SUV.
Sky 10 was above the canal as the black Honda Pilot could be seen upside down in the water. The mangled SUV was later removed from the water, and a body was found in the driver's seat.

Florida Highway Patrol Lt. Joe Sanchez said the vehicle had been in the water "for quite some time."
Hialeah police were contacted in reference to an open missing persons investigation.
"(He) was reported last seen on Jan. 9 and was reported missing on Jan. 16," Sanchez said.
The man's name wasn't being released.
