LAUDERHILL, Fla. – A car caught fire Friday afternoon on Florida's Turnpike, snarling traffic in the area.
The fire was reported about 4 p.m. in the southbound lanes of Florida's Turnpike south of Sunrise Boulevard in Lauderhill.

Lauderhill firefighters used a water hose to put out the flames.
The cause of the fire wasn't immediately known.
Southbound traffic was backed up all the way to Commercial Boulevard.
