MARGATE, Fla. – The body of a woman found in a Margate canal early Tuesday has been identified as that of 80-year-old Joyce Cox.
Police said Cox suffered from dementia and had wandered away from her home early in the morning.

Family members realized she was missing and began to look for her before calling police.
Cox, who did not know how to swim, was found about 4 a.m. by a family member. Her body was removed from the water by Margate police.
Detectives believe Cox died of an accidental drowning.
