MIAMI – State inspectors checked rides before the Miami-Dade County Fair & Expo opens Thursday.
The Miami-Dade County Fair & Expo opens March 14.
Inspections were done Wednesday to more than 100 rides.
"It's everything that we do. I mean, we have to go through inspections for everything, and it's just important, obviously, for safety reasons is the main thing," said Nancy Chevres with the Miami-Dade County Fair & Expo. "We want to make sure that everything is operated to its optimal."
Game operators and about 200 food vendors were also on-site Wednesday preparing for opening day.
"The circus has five brand-new acts inside of the tent," said Chevres.
The fair ends March 31.
