DELRAY BEACH, Fla. ā Three Boca Raton firefighters were taken to a hospital Tuesday after being struck by lightning while putting out a house fire onĀ YamatoĀ Road.Ā
The firefighters were rolling up a fire hose when they were struck.Ā

All three firefighters were taken to Delray Medical Center for treatment.
"When I heard the radio transmission, I gotĀ goosebumps," Boca Raton Fire Rescue Assistant Chief MichaelĀ Lasalle said.
The trio was expected to be OK. One of the firefighters, a 21-year veteran, was expected to remain in the hospital overnight for treatment.Ā
"We just want the public that lightning storms, they're nothing to fool around with," LaSalle said. "Seek shelter."
