Tilus Lebrun fatally stabbed restaurant owner who took his picture, deputies say

Owner of Jimmy the Greek Taverna in Boca Raton dies in double stabbing

BOCA RATON, Fla. ā€“ A man accused of fatally stabbing the owner of a Boca Raton restaurant claims he did it because the owner took a picture of him without his permission, deputies say.

Tilus Lebrun faces one count of first-degree murder and one count of attempted first-degree murder.

Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office deputies were called to a double stabbing at Jimmy the Greek Taverna on Glades Road shortly before 8 p.m. Thursday.

When deputies arrived, they found the owner of the restaurant and another employee had been stabbed numerous times by Lebrun, deputies say.

Witnesses told deputies Lebrun walked up to owner Dimitrios Karaloukas and began stabbing him for no apparent reason.

According to the probable cause affidavit, Lebrun told detectives he killed Karaloukas because the owner had taken Lebrun's photograph and posted it on the Internet.

Karaloukas was pronounced dead at Delray Medical Center.

The unidentified employee who was stabbed remains in critical condition.
