2 injured after car crashes into tree in Weston

BSO Fire Rescue cuts roof of vehicle to free victims

WESTON, Fla. – Two people were injured after a car crashed into a tree in Weston early Monday morning, the Broward Sheriff's Office Department of Fire Rescue reported.

The crash was reported about 3 a.m. in the 2000 block of Cove Lane.

Fire rescue officials said a 20-year-old was trapped between the steering wheel and dashboard after the car crashed into a tree. Authorities said a 17-year-old was also rescued from the car.

Rescuers had to cut the roof of the vehicle to get to the victims.

Both victims were taken to Broward Health Medical Center. Their identities and conditions were not immediately released.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
