STUART, Fla. – A Florida fisherman may have lost the battle, but he won the war with a monster 400 lb. grouper.
Stephen Rampersad, a firefighter from Milton, was wrapping up a day of fishing off Stuart, Fla. with his wife on her 30th birthday when the group decided to make one more go at hauling in a grouper.

"We were all done, and he (Ben Chancey, the charter captain) asked if I wanted to go one more time. We put two big baits on, 5- or 6-pound blue runners, and there you go," Rampersad told the Pensacola News-Journal.
Rampersad quickly had a big one on the line.
After 25-30 minutes, the grouper got the first laugh when he pulled Rampersad right into the deep blue sea.
With his wife recording what was supposed to be a momentous occasion, Rampersad takes a bath tumbling headfirst into the ocean.
"My wife dropped the phone when she saw me go in." Rampersad said.
Luckily for those not on-board, another camera was rolling to capture the dubious dive.
Not discouraged, Rampersad got back in the boat and eventually hauled in the 400 lb. fish they named "King of the Wreck."
However, the grouper did exact one win as Rampersad lost his sunglasses during his unplanned swim.
This is the beast that pulled me overboard.
