The concert opened with JD & The Straight Shot. The band is fronted by singer and guitarist James Dolan and the group combined for some heavenly harmonies on their Southwestern flavored songs.
Several of the band's songs have been featured in movies, as Dolan happily told the enthusiastic crowd. Highlights from their opening set included "Perdition", "Better Find A Church" and "Ballyhoo!" from their latest album, "Ballyhoo!"
Then it was time for the man everyone came to see! The stage was decorated with dozens of vintage radios hanging down from the rafters. When the spotlight would shine on one, it would play a snippet of a classic country or rock song from years past; perhaps highlighting the many musical influences Don Henley heard growing up in Cass County, Texas.
Henley and his touring band came out onstage to a half-circle of microphones and kicked off the show with the Eagles live acapella staple "7 Bridges Road"!
That set the tone for the rest of the night. Henley told the audience they would get to hear all of their favorites over the next 2 hours and the band did not disappoint!
Henley mixed Eagles classics and his own inescapable hits from his solo career for a rocking concert! And he had plenty to say in between songs; regaling fans with stories from his life as a rock star and how each song came into being.
