MIAMI – A 38-year-old woman who was on probation over a DUI crash that injured a Miami police officer was at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center on Sunday in Miami-Dade County.
According to the Florida Department of Corrections, Belkis Tinoco Salgado’s felony probation supervision was until May 9, 2026. It started after her sentence in May 2021.

The crash injuring Officer Mario Gonzalez was on Sept. 12, 2019, at Northwest 14 Street and Third Avenue, in Miami. A police officer reported Salgado, then 33, smelled of alcohol, had trouble balancing, and had bloodshot eyes.
Miami-Dade court records show Circuit Judge Carlos Humberto Gamez first presided over the case, and Circuit Judge Tanya Brinkley closed it in 2021.
The judgment shows Salgado pleaded guilty to driving under the influence/serious bodily injury, a third-degree felony; DUI/damage to property or person, a first-degree misdemeanor; and no valid driver’s license, a second-degree misdemeanor.
Earlier this year, Salgado was accused of violating her probation on Jan. 12.
Court records also show police officers arrested her in 2023 for a misdemeanor battery in Miami-Dade County. Prosecutors dropped the case, and Circuit Judge Ritamaria Gonzalez-Cuervo closed the case on April 22.
Miami-Dade inmate records show police officers arrested Salgado on a warrant in the 2019 case and correctional officers booked her shortly before 7:45 p.m., on Saturday, at TGKCC. They were holding her without bond.
