PEMBROKE PINES, Fla. – Four dogs are in need of new homes after they were abandoned Tuesday morning outside a veterinarian’s office in Pembroke Pines, authorities said.
According to Pembroke Pines police, the dogs were left in two crates outside the Pasadena Lakes Animal Clinic.

“We realize that sometimes circumstances may change and you may need to rehome a pet, but abandoning them in this way is not only illegal, it’s cruel,” the police department posted on its X page, formerly Twitter.
Police reminded the public that unwanted pets may be given to rescue organizations or the Broward County Humane Society, which accepts owner surrenders through appointment only.
Pet owners may also contact the Broward County Animal Care & Adoption Center at 954-359-1313.
Police said all four abandoned dogs are females that are about 1 year old and weigh about 40 pounds.
Those interested in adopting any of the dogs are asked to call the county’s Animal Assistance Program at 954-431-2200.
Police said the dogs’ owner has already been identified and a criminal investigation remains ongoing.
The owner’s identity has not yet been released and it’s unclear whether they will face charges.
